LORD MAYOR'S SHOW 2025
The 697th Lord Mayor of London is a Dame Susan Langley. She is only the third woman to hold the post and the first to be titled 'Lady Mayor of London'. The Lord Mayor's show is the oldest civic procession in the world, dating back to the early 13th century. Despite it being a warm and dry November day, the crowds were not huge. So I got a good view of everything apart from the Lady Mayor as I was on the other side of the road as her gold coach passed by. I'm guessing this is her husband Gary waving. I'm not sure what his title would be. The wife of a mayor is a mayoress but there is no equivalent term for the husband of a lady (or gentleman) mayor. Perhaps Mayor's Consort will suffice.
