LONDON MURAL FESTIVAL PART 3

 London Mural Festival part 3

The London Mural Festival officially came to a close on September 29 with a two-hour guided walk around the new murals of Camden. I signed up for it to save hunting for them myself and for the fascinating insight and background provided by our guide Dave.

Camden:
Mr Doodle

I imagine Mr Doodle also designs his own clothes ....

Mr Doodle (Sam Cox) has created 58 doodle artworks across Regents Park Footbridge, Chalk Farm. Nearby London Zoo is well represented with a variety of animal pictures. It took a whole week for him to complete. If you think this is OTT, check out Mr Doodle's house. His wife was not available for comment.

In 2020, Mr Doodle was the world's fifth most successful artist under 40 with $4.7 million in auction sales. He also had a breakdown but has since recovered.
Mister Tris
This stunning work by the freelance French muralist Tristan Menard who favours nautical themes shows a boat sailing on the Thames as the sun sets in the west.
Mister Tris
A second effort isn't complete. Tristan, who was eating his lunch at the time, told me he would still need three more days to finish. Nice man.
    Some time later .....
Mr Tris

D*Face
The comic-book style of London-born D*Face (Dean Stockton) was inspired by Roy Litchenstein. The girl is cradling his winged dog logo (D*Dog). The wings are repeated in her hair and on her heart.
D*Face also used this site (below) for the 2020 London Mural Festival.  And he collaborated with Christina Aguilera on her album cover of Bionic.
Bjorn uses both walls on this entrance to College Place (NW1 0RY0) to reflect on Camden's contribution to popular music, especially during the heyday of punk ....

In the next alleyway, Qwynto also uses opposite walls .....

Pref
For over 20 years British graffiti artist Pref has been producing typographic designs with hidden messages. This one, with its mix of upper and lower cases, reads Made For All. It can be seen inside the Kings Cross branch of Uniqlo (Coal Drops Yard, N1C 4DQ). You might also want to buy a nice pair of Japanese chinos or one of those warm jackets that can be compressed into a small ball.
Pref designed the logo for the ...
Qwynto
This pair of murals by Qwynto are in different locations near St Pancras station. The lady on the train in Judd Street appears to be phoning her boyfriend on the opposite side of the building in Thanet Street.

Some more of the many murals in Camden (not part of the London Mural Festival):

..... and Amy Winehouse is everywhere ....
