FREEDOM PASS WETHERSPOONS PART 11
FREEDOM PASS WETHERSPOONS 11
There's a new Wetherspoons next to Fulham Broadway station ....
The conversion is very impressive. It certainly gets a thumbs-up from Alan and Agnieska Forbes who say it's the best of all 900+ Wetherspoons they've visited.
There is an extra floor above the entrance which also leads to a small roof terrace .....
The pub is already very popular. I can't image how busy it will be when Chelsea are at home .....
Yes, Stamford Bridge is just along the road from the Walham Green. So I took the opportunity to check out this huge statue of Peter Osgood. My post featuring sports statues in London is a work in progress.
I've now visited all the Wetherspoons in London, just over 100 in total, a pitiful effort compared to Alan and Agnieska. Some of these watering holes have since closed, including The George in Wanstead, which was my local.
The new owners of the George have extensively refurbished the pub and it has now reverted to its original (1906) name - The George and Dragon. It seems much quieter now, perhaps because fish and chips and a pint of Guinness will set you back £24.50 (Spoons price £12).
Still, Wetherspoons Walnut Tree in Leytonstone is walkable (or two bus stops) and there will soon be some new ones to check out:
New Wetherspoons in London .....
The Sun Wharf, London Bridge (opens September 2)
The Sir Alexander Fleming, Paddington (opens September 23)
