SUMMER 2025 UPDATES
RECENT POSTS:
The Fab Faux, Amy Housewine, Earth, Wind for Hire and many, many more.
I love a list, and here's one I've been shamelessly compiling for some time. I've even seen some of the acts, especially the Beatles and Pink Floyd tributes.
Worth a visit - Guildhall, London ......
It looks great from the outside and has a nice art gallery but for me the most interesting bit is the library round the back. Here you can find an enormous number of books on London plus two brilliant models .....
City of London
Scale 1:500 with three colours representing different periods of history - dark grey pre-1945, light grey 1945-1980, illuminated cream post 1980 including all those with planning permission.
..... an interesting aspect is you can see how the recent high-rise buildings were planned so as not to unduly block views of St Paul's.
Royal Docks
Scale 1:1000, fully 3D printed. An overview including planned development over the next 10 years. Ten thousand buildings covering 19.2 square kilometres are represented.
The first Guildhall Library was founded in 1425 with money left by Richard Whittington.
If you wondered what happened to Banksy's fish tank it's safely inside Guildhall.
I've also updated these posts with new works, and comment ....
Finally, a couple of useful links:
For an interactive map of international street art CLICK HERE.
For a London Underground map showing all the stations with toilets CLICK HERE. Essential for beer-drinking pensioners who (as it says in the oldies ads) have a zest for life.
Colombia next? Amazing street art. Carol and Mike can fill you in x
